Diversity and Inclusion Training
Ilkley Pride and Diversity Group are planning a course of workshops to be delivered to local businesses and organisations. This primarily focuses on unconscious bias and how this can be tackled but will also cover topics including LGBTQIA+ inclusivity and the importance of hiring individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Unconscious bias training seeks to raise awareness of the mental shortcuts that lead to snap judgements – often based on race, sexuality and gender – about people’s talents or character.
Its goal is to reduce bias in attitudes and behaviours at work, from hiring and promotion decisions to interactions with customers and colleagues.
