“I’m happy as patron of Ilkley and Keighley Pride to send you good wishes. No lesser a person than Charles Darwin of Origin of the Species fame, in anticipation of controversy on the publication of his book took refuge in Ilkley. Not much controversy nowadays thank goodness but its never far away. Tolerance can never be taken for granted.”
